Biography

I am a mid-forties woman, mother of two daughters (both teens, oy). Originally, I had an office job in high-tech, but I ditched the 3 o’clock doldrums for teaching, where I am finished for the day by 3 o’clock and rarely have the doldrums; although I do spend my days with 14-year olds. I’m originally from New York City, lived in Israel for most of the 80's and 90's, and then a few years ago moved to Northern Virginia.

I love words: to hear them, to say them, to exchange them, to write them, to read them, to think about them. I use them to understand my life and to share my life with others (hence the blog).

I enjoy finding the lighter side of even the darkest things, and the more I get into midlife the more I realize that with all of the darkness around, I much prefer lemonade to lemons. As I discover new recipes (to use the lemons that have been delivered special-delivery) I’ll share them in this blog.
