I am alone right now, running between my stove and my computer--two of my favorite places. My son is headed off for his first solo vacation with his dad (my almost ex). I'll miss him but know it will be good for all of us.

I was alone last night. I enjoy it..have been divorced 10 years and responsible for myself and 2 children. Alone is nothing to fear, it is to be embraced and enjoyed as much as possible. Nothing like curling up with a good book, or cooking a favorite meal or walking the dogs. Sometimes, however, it would be nice to have a companion to share things...hard times, sad times, going to the museum.

The last time I felt alone was on Saturday when I drove back from visiting my younger daughter at sleepaway camp. The five hour drive of listening to music, looking at the changing scene, eating potato chips, and stopping for potty breaks was wonderfully fulfilling in the way, I assume, mediation must be.
The difference between alone and lonely: one aches, the other doesn't.

I grew up as an only child so I'm used to being alone. The challenge is when family gets in the way.

I was alone last night, where I have been thinking about getting out of my present job, getting out of my home town, just getting out. Deep thoughts occupied me while the rain poured down. I felt alone but there was a sense of release.

First time in my life our house was empty when all four of our children left on vacation. It was nice, peaceful, and eerie. The next day I thought I was going to go mad without them.

It seems we need a balance with alone time so that it doesn't turn into lonely time.
