Does age cause this desire? To please oneself? What a mental relief - it is not a pathway to selfishness as much as it is a road to peace. You please yourself, be at peace with yourself, then you really can give.

unmotivated yet, I think you really hit it there, that this is an issue of age, but what does age give us but time to experience and learn from those experiences? It seems that age gives us time to realize that some of the conventions of society are wrong, especially that to please yourself you need to please others first. Thanks for your insights here.
