The special parts of my day so far, are the phone calls from my children to say hello and that they love me. Another was hearing my little guy talk about what presents you wants to buy for another little boy( a name were drawing from an angel tree)and the toys he is willing to give up and help me clean to give to children living at a battered womens shelter. So nothing big in the general sense but big for me. Any day I get to hear my childrens voices on the phone(they live far away)is special to me. Any time a message, such as the one of giving to others, that I have been talking and trying to teach to my little ones, seems to be getting through to them is special for me too!

It was not a good day today, and am trying to find something that was good. Perhaps it was not yelling at anyone. Perhaps it was the lovely dinner I prepared but only I ate from it because one daughter fell asleep and the other is at class. Perhaps the best part of my day was getting comments from people about wonderful things, reminding me that I am not just this woman sitting at home feeling alone, but am connected to all kinds of friends, and that is a good thing to know.

Well, stopping here and being prompted to find the special-ness in the day! I'd say today it was shopping with my daughter, and a quiet spaghetti dinner together with the family, talking, easy. Thanks for making me more aware!

Stepping Thru

It may sound strange but today was special because I went to the funeral of a remarkable woman. She raised three sons to be fine men. She loved to travel and cared very deeply for those around her. She has been suffering for a long time and is now at peace. I got to visit with her family and we had an enjoyable time despite the circumstances.

Joanne, glad you got the question that suited you.

ST, that celebration of life certainly sounds profound, maybe your day was profound. I hope your reflections on her and her life are what she would have wanted to hear.

Today it is pouring down rain. My kids are out and my husband is working and I can do what I like, when I like, in the quiet of a rainy day.

phhhst, does special always have to refer to something good? Today is special because nothing unexpected has happened.
