Through the years I have interpreted my one and only writing instructor's instruction as positive influence: "keep writing." Now this could mean that "you have talent and develop it" or "you have no talent and really need to work at it." I have opted for the former.
Ricardo, seek out those who will encourage you and turn from those who only serve to bring you down.
